C'mon Spring!
I don't know about you, but I'm tired of winter and ready for spring! It's time for the snow to disappear!
This Friday we started our unit on multiplication and division. We looked at how to group objects to show a multiplication sentence (remember 2 groups of 3?). To practice your multiplication skills, check out this great site:
Multiplication 1
If you want a challenge, try to solve these multiplication tables:
Multiplication 2
Remember 2 groups of 3 is the same as 2 x 3We have finished our science unit on Movement and will be moving on to Air, Water and the Environment. Although we won't be starting our new unit until Tuesday, have a look at this site about the water cycle. You can see how the earth recycles water. We'll look more into the water cycle later on in the unit.

Enjoy the weekend!

One Busy Week!
Just like last week, we have a lot to cover this week. We will be having our science and math tests on Thursday February 24th, so please make sure you study for it. I will be handing out the review sheets tomorrow to help you prepare.
Also, I have two parents so far who are able to come on our trip to the ROM. Please let me know as soon as possible if your parents can come. I can only take 4. Permission forms are due by Friday this week please.
The Me to We club will be selling cookies for $1.00 each everyday. The money you give to purchase a cookie will go towards their goal of building a school in Sierra Leone to help kids just like you to go to school too. The cookies are peanut free, and really tasty :)
That's all for now!

Field Trip Coming Up
Happy Early Valentine's Day!
For math, we have started to study 2 digit addition and subtraction. Try solving these word problems at home for extra practice(remember to start with the ones column):
Sarah and Samantha love to collect silly bands! Sarah has 73 silly bands and Samatha has 45. How many do they have in all?
John and Jacob love playing with Beyblades! John has 14 and Jacob has 20. How many more does John need to have the same number of beyblades as Jacob?
Valerie and Alison love to eat Smarties! Valerie has 20 smarties and Alison has 26. How many do they have all together?
For science, we have continued to look at simple machines. Some of the machines we have studied so far are pulleys, levers, wheel and axle, wedge and inclined plane. Have a look at this link and click on the pictures of different simple machines. You will be able to see where you can find these simple machines in real life! When you're done, try to find similar simple machines at home:
Please remember to bring in your interview forms as well. Parent-Teacher interviews are next week, so please hand them in to me by Wednesday next week.
Have a great weekend!

One Busy Week!
I handed out the math review on Friday, so you all know what that means! Test on Monday! :) Make sure you complete your review sheet and look it over a few times to study for the test. Here are a bunch of links you can check out to help you prepare for the test as well:

Find the number of sides and vertices for each shape:
For science we have looked at simple machines such as inclined planes, wedges, screws and levers. Try and see if there are any simple machines around your house.
That's all for now! Have a great weekend!
